I have an addiction...

I do.  I do.   I am addicted to junking.  I stop at every Goodwill in town (4 of them) and at least 2 of the 4 ARC Thrift Stores at least once per month.  I chase garage sale signs.  You would laugh if you could hear the goings on inside my head!   I try to resist and just tell myself I have PLENTY of Stuff at home and that I should Go shop in my own Garage already!   Well today Goodwill won!   At first I wasn't finding anything and I thought that was okay.  Until I spotted these:

Universal Ballerina Rose Plates.  There are four dinner size plates.  I got all excited and begin searching through all of the dishes as I didn't want to miss one piece.  I thought what if I find a matching cup & saucer!  I did not.  Here is the stamp on the back of these plates:

I would have been happy to just bring home one of them!  They are so pretty!

While looking for more of the Rose plates I found these two Vintage French Arcoroc Pink Glass plates.  I was happy with my Goodwill finds, but drove away feeling like I need to work on this "addiction."   Next time I'll shop in my own Garage!

Booth Space A14

It been quite awhile since I've shown my booth at the American Classics Marketplace in Colorado Springs.   I've painted her gray and moved some things around since the last time.

I've got an eclectic mix of shabby, vintage, cottage,
french & romantic - just my style!
Check out that vintage Shelley Woodlands cup and saucer.
Sometimes I think I should just bring her home with me.

I love vintage aprons and big ornate frames.

Most of the things I put in here to sell are things that
 I wouldn't mind keeping if they didn't.

But then I'd be hoarding, and my Sweet William might send me for
 counseling while he purged everything!

Seriously!  I love the hunt, but I can't keep all of the treasures.

So I guess it's good that I equally like to put together displays,
and yes, make a little money too!

My SW and I both like to refinish furniture.  Right now I only have few
end tables left for sale.  We have more pieces waiting in the garage for our attention.

I just love this chippy old picket fence.  It's NFS at this time.
So many have asked!  It's a fun display piece.

I love, love this milk glass cake plate!  It's another
one that's hard to part with!

Thank you for stopping by!  Come again soon!

Notice anything new?  My Blog got a makeover!  Sweet Karen over at Karen Valentine Design helped me out and created this beautiful new blog for me to play with!  Thank you Karen! I'm loving it!

Ashamedly I must tell you I had been away from my booth for a little too long and when I went to check on things this is what I found!

Isn't that just grand!  Someone spilled their coffee or chocolate drink all over one of my displays and it had dried up.  The lid was stuck to the teapot and the pot was stuck to the stand!  Same with the soup tureen.    It was just a mess.  This is why there is a sign posted about no food or drinks on the sales floor.  People! Humph!

Oh well.  It's all cleaned up and made pretty again.
And just in time I might add -

Because my Blogger friend Bernideen from Bernideen's Tea Time Blog stopped in!  What a surprise and a nice visit we had.  If only I had some tea brewing, I would've loved to have shared a cup with her.  I used to love to go to her tea and gift shop in Old Colorado City.

In honor of being able to visit with my friend I've decided to share some of the things that were bought from her store over the years.  Most of these were gifts from my Sweet William and are still in use and/or on display in my "tea room."

These are just a few of the things.  Yes, even the Harney's Paris Tea and the bird drip catcher.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  Had to have self-discipline when I went in there.  Hehe.  I wanted all of it!
I am linking up with Bernideen for friends sharing tea!

Keep Calm and ...

"Keep Calm and Carry On"  remember this saying becoming ever so popular just a few years ago?  Funny that it was started more than 60 years ago as the last in a series of moral boosting posters that were to be "displayed across the British Isles during the testing times that lay ahead." "The plan in place for this poster was to issue it only upon the invasion of Britain by Germany.  As this never happened, the poster was never officially seen by the public." http://www.keepcalmandcarryon.com/history

Now it has grown to incorporate all kinds of sayings:   Keep Calm and Craft on,  Keep Calm and Crochet On, Keep Calm and Drink Tea, Keep Calm and Pray On, Keep Calm and ... (you fill in the blank.)    Do you have a favorite?    Honestly I liked the one pictured above because it's PINK!  And it is a reminder to me to just Keep Calm!

Basket and fabric pumpkins I won from TimeWashed and a
beautiful Heart Sachet I purchased from Rebecca

I have a tendency to get overly excited about stuff and my mind just darts off in every direction (or maybe that's ADHD?) and I can't wait for what's coming around the corner!   My last post I mentioned about leaving my day job...  I can't wait!  (Seriously love you guys but I got to go!)  It's going to be more then a few months but less then a year and I'm going.  I've already got one foot out the door as they say!  I just have to remain calm and not run outta there before it's time or I'll mess everything up!

As I sit here and enjoy tea from this beautiful fall cup, I'm already planning my new routines and thinking about spending hours sewing.  I'm not not going to work, I'm just going to work from home, doing what I love.  Making more pillows and tea cozies and aprons (As it is I can't get them into my booth fast enough - they sell almost immediately!)  I also want to spend some time treasure hunting.  SEE - My mind is already there!    So I just have to Keep Calm. Enjoy what's around me, right now, and Carry On with the work that has been put before me until the times comes to Move On.   Hmmm,  Keep Calm and Move On.   There's another one.

Yellow leaves, blues skies, crisp clean air

Just spent the loveliest weekend with my Sweet William in Vail.  People ask me what is there to do in Vail when it isn't snowing...  nothing... everything... whatever thing you want...

We spent a little time outdoors!    Here are some pictures of the beauty of Autumn in Colorado.   Hope you enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed taking them!

This photo is looking down on some Aspen Trees from inside a Gondola.  We rode it to the top of the Mountain.  The views were spectacular!

Shot looking behind us.  Because I was am terrified of heights, SW took the picture.  I just have to keep my eyes forward, not looking up, down or all around!  I do it afraid, because I love him so!  He does so many things that I like to do, even if he doesn't like to.

Love the contrast.

At the top of Vail Mountain we could see this beautiful valley and Mount of the Holy Cross in the background.   Simply breathtaking.

We hiked down.  3 1/2 miles on an intermediate trail.  It was rough, I won't lie.  We're not avid hikers so it took over two hours to get down to the bottom of the trail.  It may have had something to do with my picture taking - or picture taking was just an excuse to "catch my breath"

Just one more, okay 5 more, pictures I want to share!   Have a beautiful Fall dear friends.

Catching up!

Its been so long since I've played with my blog that I've forgotten how to add new pictures!  LOL!  Seriously.  I figured out how to repost old pics so I chose these.  I hope you like them.  This banner was from a Fall Swap I participated in a few years ago.  It was so much fun I want to do it again!

It's almost fall, my favorite time of year.  It's a time of change and boy I'm feeling the need for change.   In just a few days my Sweet William and I will be making this trip to Vail again.  I hope the trees will be as vibrant.   I look so forward to it and this year I was able to talk him in to adding another day to our little get away!
(We go for his annual conference/training - I get to R E L A X)
Adding another day gives him 2 days to relax as well.  I plan on catching up on some reading, and probably some zzzz's while he's in training.

Time goes so fast.  So much has happened in my little corner of the world.   I posted just a few posts back about changes in our family.  Some of those were temporary - my daughter is reunited with her kiddos and they are living happily - not here!  Just Kidding!  I love them dearly, but it's a very trying time to live with your adult children and their children.   Other changes became permanent, and I now can say I have 6 girls, not just 4.   How could I be so blessed!

There is a big change I am ready for, I am praying about, I'm trying to make a way for...

I really want to quit my job (my steady paycheck & benefit job) and work my booth, make my crafts, blog my blog, do ministry work, and love on my family.   Not that I don't do all of these things already, I just want to do them better.  Without the nag of having to leave my home to go to work, doing something I don't want to do while leaving the things I want to do undone.  Make sense?   Have any of you done this?  Made a change so you can live your passion?   Any words of wisdom?  I'd love to hear it.
