Random Ramblings from Me!

Pretty things can happen when you are organized!
The more I work on my craft room, the more I want to Craft!  I took time yesterday from sorting and organizing to make these beautiful (If I do say so myself!) lavender heart sachets.  I made them using pillow shams I bought at a thrift store!  Really.  The shams cost me .49 cents a piece.
Here is what they looked like before.  I washed and pressed them, cut out heart shapes, embellished with buttons, lace and ribbon, sewed the hearts together, stuffed with pillow stuffing and lavender pockets, used my little eyelet puncher thing (for the life of me I can't think of what it is called!), added ribbon to hang and Viola!  Beautiful sachets in time for Valentine sales in my booth.   Oh the joy of knowing where everything is, and goes when you're done!  My hearts were inspired by Rebecca Nelson's hearts.  Everything she does is beautiful.
.
Afterwards, I enjoyed some tea.  My Poinsettia still looks good.  I didn't put the glitter on it, it came that way as a gift from one of my dear daughters.  It was a hostess gift as I allowed her to hold her staff Christmas party here at my house.  My house is not a mansion by any means, but it was built for entertaining and when we bought it we all prayed that it be used for God's glory. We host many of fellowships and bible studies here on a regular basis.  The one thing I don't want to miss is the opportunity to reach out to people and show them love and kindness.  Give them a warm meal and comfortable place to relax.
This morning I read about Ruth and Naomi.  It so touched my heart, again.  To have someone so devoted to you as Ruth was to Naomi. Or to be that devoted.   It made me think of my own mother, my daughters and my sisters.  Do I take the time to let each one know how much they mean do me?  I have purposed in my heart to take the time this year to let each one know, in word and in deed, that I cherish our relationships.

Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and Your God my God.  Ruth 1:16
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will him self be refreshed.  Proverbs 11:25

  2. Hi Jocelyne,
What a lovely post! I am so happy you have shared it with Tea Time. Your toile hearts are adorable. I adore toile, red, and hearts, so I am loving them. Such pretty teacups too, basking in the glory of your sparkly poinsettia. Enjoyed the scripture too and the story of Naomi and Ruth is a favourite of mine. Thanks for joining me for tea and have a beautiful day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  4. Cute, cute! I too pick up shams to use for other things. I made pillows with big felt flowers last year out of thrift find chenille shams. Your hearts are so sweet. I so need to reorganize my sewing room. Messiest it's been since we moved here. A clean room helps the mind to create. Happy to be following you. I would love if you linked up to my party Share Your Cup Thursday sometime.
    Hugs,
    Jann

I love, love your precious and very pretty hearts. The fabric that you have chosen is just perfect and isn't it wonderful when we can find it inexpensively. I bet they will sell really fast. I made several hearts and put them in my booth and they've sold already.

Thanks for sharing the scriptures too.
